Welded steel and stainless steel assemblies

Welded assemblies consist of individual parts joined by welding into a functional unit, such as sheets, tubes and profiles for frames, brackets or stands. The key is not just the individual weld, but how fit, distortion and subsequent assembly work together.

Share your drawing, bill of materials and requirements with us. We can combine laser cutting, tube processing, bending and welding into one manufacturing sequence. Our documented focus is steel and selected stainless steels; we check the material and welding requirements for each project.

From data to assembly

Four steps to cost-effective manufacturing

Early technical clarification prevents queries during production and provides a reliable basis for the quotation and delivery date.

01

Send your files

Send drawings, 3D data, bill of materials, material, quantity and target date.

02

Assess feasibility

We assess welds, tolerances, accessibility, distortion and the appropriate manufacturing process.

03

Manufacture & Join

Cutting, bending and welding are carried out in a coordinated sequence.

04

Inspect & Deliver

Components are inspected to specification, finished and prepared for assembly.

For engineering & Procurement

Information that makes quotations comparable

A finished welded assembly involves more than welding time. Define the required scope of supply so that quotations cover the same work.

01 / Component

Drawing revision & Fit dimensions

Include a revision-controlled drawing, bill of materials and material grade. Identify functional surfaces, datums and required tolerances; add 3D data where needed.

02 / Execution

Welds & Inspection requirements

Specify weld details, surface requirements and necessary documentation. Special inspections and the applicable certification scope are agreed before the order is accepted.

03 / Scope of supply

From cutting to assembly

State whether individual parts will be supplied or whether prefabrication is required. Specify quantity, repeat demand, finishing, surface treatment and target date together.

Welding quality

Certified – with an honest assessment of each component

The certificates define the framework. Before accepting an order, we clarify whether the material, process, execution class and inspection requirements for your specific component are covered.

Frequently asked questions

Welded assemblies explained

Technical answers for design and purchasing teams, helping you prepare an enquiry we can assess quickly.

01

Which subcontract welding processes does NN offer?

We use MIG, MAG and TIG welding, as well as a 3,000 W laser welding system. We select the appropriate process according to the material, geometry, weld requirements and quantity.

02

Does NN manufacture welded assemblies to drawing?

Yes. We work from technical drawings, bills of materials and, where required, 3D data. We assess weld specifications, material, tolerances, inspection requirements and a cost-effective production sequence before quoting.

03

Which materials can be welded?

Our documented focus is on steel and selected stainless steels. We assess other materials and material combinations on a project-by-project basis.

04

Are one-off parts and production runs possible?

Yes. We handle one-offs, prototypes, small batches and repeat production runs. For batch parts, we match fixtures and inspection procedures to the required repeatability.

05

Can NN also handle cutting and bending?

Yes. Sheet and tube lasers, CNC bending, welding and assembly are available at one site. On request, we can therefore supply a fully manufactured assembly from one source.

06

Which welding certifications does NN hold?

NN is certified to DIN EN ISO 3834-3. Certified factory production control covers structural steel components and kits up to EXC2 under EN 1090-2. The specific welding scope is defined by the accompanying annexes and welding certificates. We assess applicability to your particular component.
